New Corporate Manslaughter Case to be heard
Three company directors from Lion Steel Equipment Ltd in Hyde have recently been charged under the Corporate Manslaughter and Corporate Homicide Act.
This should serve as a harsh reminder to all company directors of the need to ensure that they are meeting their health and safety obligations.
Roger Bibbings, RoSPA's occupational safety adviser, suggests: "This case should certainly make less safety conscious firms - both large and small - sit up and think. It should also prompt those in senior positions in all types of organisation to assess whether they are actually providing visible, felt leadership when it comes to ensuring effective safety management."
